Kinemetrics, Inc. Announces New Product Offerings: The ROCK Family of Products

Pasadena, CA – December 01, 2007 - Kinemetrics, Inc. introduced the Rock family of products – the fifth generation of Kinemetrics digital multi-channel, low-power and high dynamic range data acquisition systems.

The "Rock family" is designed to meet the needs of various environmental monitoring data acquisition operational models and missions while offering exceptional data fidelity and signal purity at very-low power consumption. The Rock products will also include a number of add-on options, tools and applications. Physical interfaces will support various communication standards such as Ethernet, RS-232, USB 2.0, and Bluetooth.

The Granite 24-bit multi-channel recorder is the first product of the new Rock family. This advanced IP-network-aware, low-cost, 12-channel DAS incorporates the very latest innovation in digital technology and signal processing. It is also available in 24 and 36 channel options.

With a dynamic range of ~130dB at each channel (at 100sps), and sampling rates of 1, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1,000 and 2,000 samples per second, Granite offers also greatly enhanced ease of use and functionality. Compatible with other Rock and Quanterra instruments, the Granite’s toolbox allow users to develop highly flexible system solutions.

Mounted in a rugged aluminum extruded case, the Granite is designed to withstand 1m drop and/or 1m temporary water immersion (IP67) without failure in its operation. With outstanding data fidelity and signal purity, multiple data formats and telemetry protocols and its ability to record and communicate in multiple sample rates, this new generation DAS will meet a significant variety of user requirements and satisfy large numbers of projects and system requirements.

Exceptional timing is ensured by integrated GPS-Time. The flexible storage space is offered with an internal compact flash slot as well as with one SD Card – field removable.

Every Granite sensor input incorporates transient and EMI/RFI protection. The instrument offers extensive state-of-health monitoring, including input and system voltages, internal temperature, humidity, and communication link diagnostics. Additional options include an advanced power and communication enclosure with optional AC power, Solar panel controller and internal battery. Also available is a hardened Ethernet switch with power over Ethernet.

Granite is an advanced, robust, quality-consistent unit, designed for simple installation and maintenance and priced at $950 per channel for a 12-channel unit. Current delivery time is 90 days or less ARO.
